Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions

Who can volunteer for the campaign?
Anyone with a passion for education equity, community organizing, or supporting Charlotte’s students can volunteer! No previous campaign experience needed—just heart and commitment.
What kind of volunteer roles are available?
We have a role for everyone! You can canvass door-to-door, make phone calls, help at events, work the polls during early voting and Election Day, distribute signs and flyers, or lend digital skills like graphic design and social media support.
Do I need training?
Yes, but don’t worry—it’s quick and easy. Every volunteer will receive orientation materials and support from our team. For some roles, like canvassing and phone banking, we provide scripts and practice sessions to build confidence.
What should I bring or wear to volunteer?
Comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and a smile! If you're volunteering in person, you’ll be provided with campaign gear like a t-shirt (while supplies last). Wear purple or our campaign shirt to show your support!
How will I stay in the loop?
Volunteers receive weekly emails and reminders about events and opportunities. We also use group chats for quick updates and coordination. Your time and presence are valued, so we keep you informed and included.
What if I have to cancel or change plans?
No problem—life happens! Just communicate with the Volunteer Director as soon as possible so we can adjust and make sure all bases are covered.
Is there a way to recognize or celebrate volunteers?
Absolutely. Volunteers are the heartbeat of our campaign. We offer shout-outs on social media, appreciation events, and swag for those who show up and show out. Your work matters—and we honor that.
